Zhejiang Tea Import & Export Co., Ltd., founded in 1950, is the largest international trade company in China specializing in tea business and also has become a comprehensive international trade company after the development of 5 decades, whose business scope covers from main business of tea to many other fields such as chemical industry, light industry, textile, apparel, hardware, etc. The total amount of the company’s export and import value reached 270 million US dollars in 2003 and ranked No.324 in the top 500 Chinese international trade enterprises, No.168 in the top 200 Chinese companies in the value of export. The company owns 15 subsidiary companies, 2 joint ventures and has set up business relationships with over 100 countries all over the world.
　　As a main business line of the company, it has been authorized by the Chinese government to have the right to do tea business since 1981 and the quantity of the tea exported by the company stands the first place in China, over 40000 metric tons annually from 1990. In 2003, it exported 38000 metric tons of tea, valued 52.1 million US dollars, which included 38000 metric tons of green tea, amounted to 21% of Chinese exported green tea and on the top one of the world. The company owns several famous tea brands of “Camel� “Shifeng�etc. awarded as Zhejiang Famous Brand many times by the authorities. The “Camel�brand is registered in more than 30 countries, and wins gold medals many times in the World Food Expo and International Tea Expo.
　　As well as consolidating and developing tea business, the company also operates non-tea commodity business actively that the product lines range from luggage, apparels, shoes, caps to machinery and electrical equipments and the value of the above exported accounts for 2/3 of the total turnover of the company.
